Tesla Powerwall 3 Release Date and Availability in Australia
The Tesla Powerwall 3 officially launched in Australia on August 16, 2024. It builds on the success of its predecessor, the Powerwall 2, which was released back in 2016. With enhanced performance, greater energy capacity, and superior scalability, the Powerwall 3 is designed to meet the growing energy demands of Australian homes.
Tesla Powerwall 3 Installation and Compatibility
The Tesla Powerwall 3 in Australia can be installed in both single and three-phase homes, making it highly versatile for various residential setups. It is compatible with a wide range of solar inverters and can be added to an existing PV system through AC coupling. However, it cannot be added to existing Powerwall 2 systems.
Coming 2025: Power 3 Extensions
The Tesla team have announced that customers can expect a new product to expand the Tesla Powerwall 3’s capabilities to reach Australia. These will be Power 3 Expansions, which users of the battery can use to add on an even longer battery backup without the need for additional supporting gear (or approvals).
