Slash Your Electricity Bills with Solar Batteries
Save even more on your home and commercial electricity bills by installing solar batteries to provide you with free energy at night, they can even help take you off-grid. For example, the Tesla Powerwall is a home battery that stores energy so you can use it day or night and self-power your home. With the Powerwall, you gain continuous and backup power, even in the event of a grid outage
Jordan and the team at SNAP were great to deal with. They took the time to help explain the difference between quoted systems and which is best in our scenario. Really happy with SNAP and would recommend them to anyone in the Mackay area!!

From start to finish, Snap Solar was pleasant to deal with. Jordan was our initial contact. He was always willing to help and answer questions, no matter how simple or technical. At no time, I felt I was a burden. Payment of 50% deposit to start work was no problem, and I appreciated I could pay via credit card.
Georgia followed-up to organise time to have electrician attend our premise to have the Solar panels and inverter installed. The contracted electricians A&B Electricians arrived on time and got straight to working. Brock was a true professional.
The entire process, until handover, took about a month. But it was well worth it.

Do You Still Pay an Electricity Bill With Solar Panels?
You may still receive a reduced electricity bill, depending on your solar system size and energy requirements. You can invest in batteries which can help to store more electricity so you don’t pay electricity.
If you produce more electricity than you need, it gets exported back into the energy grid and you can be paid a feed-in tariff by the energy company for selling the excess back.
What is a Feed-in Tariff?
A feed-in-tariff is the amount your electricity retailer pays you for any electricity your solar system generates that you don’t use and is fed back into the grid. Feed-in tariffs differ depending on where you live.
Do Solar Panels Work at Night or During Cloudy Weather?
Solar panels do not generate power at night. Once the sun goes down, your home or business will start to draw power from the main grid as usual. Solar panels will still work on cloudy days but will not generate as much electricity as when the weather is clear and sunny.
Is it Possible to Expand The Size of my System in the Future?
This is determined by the size of the inverter and the amount of space available on your roof. You could expand the size of your system if you have enough roof space and more inverter capacity.
You could also install a second system on your roof.
Do Solar Panels Work During a Blackout?
Your solar panel system will shut down if it is connected to the grid. This is to ensure that emergency responders and energy utility workers are not injured as a result of your panels returning power to the grid. However, when used in conjunction with a battery, certain inverters can offer backup power in the event of a blackout.
How Long Does an Installation Take?
Without knowing the size of the solar power system, it’s difficult to estimate the average installation time. The larger the system, the longer it takes to install. As an example, a 5KW system takes about 3-5 hours from start to finish.
Are Solar Batteries Worth it?
Yes, batteries pay for themselves and can reduce or eliminate electricity bills, solar batteries also have other benefits which include gaining energy independence and protection against blackouts.
What Are Solar Panels Made of?
Solar panels are usually made out of an aluminium frame, glass sheet, and silicon.
What is a Solar Inverter?
Your solar inverter is one of the most important parts of your solar panel system. Your solar inverter converts the direct current (DC) output from your panels into alternating current (AC) so it can begin its task of powering your home. Without a solar inverter, there’s no way to harness the sun’s power for practical use, which makes it an essential part of your solar apparatus.
How Do I Read a Solar Inverter Display?
Your solar system should come with a detailed manual explaining how everything works, and this document should also show you how your inverter display panel operates and what to look out for.
