AIKO Solar Panels
Snap Solar is proud to be one of the first providers of Aiko solar panels in Mackay, and Australia at large. Aiko is a new contender to Australia’s competitive solar market, but it’s not new to solar research. The brand won awards for their innovative achievements they have achieved in their solar panels that’s soon going to raise expectations in the market.
Let us explain how and why. Aiko’s stand out design advantage is its revolutionary Partial Shade Optimisation. Sadly traditional solar panels lose up to 40 per cent of their energy production capabilities in the shade. Compare this to Aiko—solar panels that continue absorbing sunlight and generating power even when obscured by shade.
How it works is through Aiko’s ABC solar cell technology (‘ABC’ stands for ‘All Back Contact’). In this solar makeup, the electrical contacts of the solar cells are placed to the backside of the panels. This intentional design change eliminates shading on the front side of the cell. The result maximises the sunlight the cell can absorb and then convert into energy.

Product Description
Aiko Solar Panels are making a strong entrance into the Australian solar market this year, offering a blend of cutting-edge technology and reliable performance. With efficiency rates reaching up to 23.6%, these panels are designed to maintain their high output with minimal degradation—only 1% in the first year and 0.35% each year after. The advanced ABC solar cells in Aiko panels excel in partial shading conditions, ensuring that your system continues to generate power where others might fail. Additionally, these panels feature an industry-leading temperature coefficient of -0.26%/°C, which means they lose less power in high temperatures compared to most other panels. Aiko’s commitment to quality is backed by a 25-year product warranty and a 30-year performance warranty, ensuring long-term peace of mind for your investment.
Moreover, Aiko Solar Panels are built to withstand the challenges that can compromise lesser systems. Their micro-crack resistance and high-temperature restrictions contribute to a lower module failure rate and enhanced safety for your roof. With their reduced connection points, these panels also optimise installation capacity and lower operation and maintenance costs. It’s no surprise that Aiko’s panels have been ranked on the 2024 PV Top Performers List, excelling in rigorous tests like thermal cycling and hail stress sequence, making them a top choice for those looking to invest in durable and efficient solar technology.
Key Features
Partial Shade Optimisation
Aiko Solar Panels are renowned for their ABC solar cells. This design enables Aiko solar panels to continue operating and providing electricity where other brands and models fail.
Better Temperature Coefficient
Temperature coefficient is the percentage of power solar cells lose in degrees, when they rise above 25°C in heat. Most solar panels lose this power at a rate of -0.3% / °C to -0.5% / °C. Aiko panels are -0.26%/°C. This gives you a performance more resilient against heat affected drops in efficiency.
High Temperature Restriction
Aiko’s ABC solar panels are designed to not rise above certain high temperatures. This ensures lower module temperatures, drops in performance, and reduced fire risk.
Micro-crack Resistance
Its durable and resilient build is designed against factors that cause micro-cracks in the solar cells–less detectable but still a hamper to performance.
Higher Power
Aiko solar panels achieve enviable higher leagues of power, with Neostar 2S panels reaching up to 470Wp.
Warranty
All Aiko solar panels have a 25-year product warranty and a 30-year performance warranty following their installation date.

Award Winning Solar Panels – Reaching New Heights in Design
Before coming to Australia, AIKO has already proved itself with its higher efficiency achievements on the world stage.
Intersolar Award 2023
Intersolar Award 2023 (Europe) puts the innovative solutions from different companies in solar on the centre stage. Intersolar is a world exhibition for the solar industry hosted in Europe.
AIKO won in 2023 for their ABC n-type modules, showing proof of their technical and efficiency excellence.
Red Dot Design Award 2023
The year 2023 brought in the world’s first red dot design award given to a XBC PV module, which were AIKO’s modules. In the brand’s winner profile, it’s remarked for its very high efficiency and ABC technological design.
Sleek, Modern Solar Panels for Rooftops
We know that how ‘good a panel looks’ isn’t your primary concern when you’re purchasing your solar panels for your system. However, put before judges (and guests at our stand at the Expo) and there’s no doubt about it. Aiko Neostar 2S pure black panels are visually stunning.
Red Dot 2023’s judges said about the modules: “a uniform, seamless-appearing surface on the roof with a high aesthetic quality”. They’ll look great on your home rooftop.
Explaining N-Type Solar Cells
Aiko provides N-type ABC solar cells. In addition to its enviable partial shade optimisation that these panels are known for, they also carry the benefits of the greater purity of N-type silicon.
N-type solar panels experience higher efficiency, less degradation over time and reduced energy loss. This is why N-type solar cells are so reputable in the solar industry. They lead to higher power generation and performance over the lifetime of the solar installation. They do carry a higher upfront cost, but N-type solar panels pay for themselves with its longevity and reliable strong performance.

From start to finish, Snap Solar was pleasant to deal with. Jordan was our initial contact. He was always willing to help and answer questions, no matter how simple or technical. At no time, I felt I was a burden. Payment of 50% deposit to start work was no problem, and I appreciated I could pay via credit card.
Georgia followed-up to organise time to have electrician attend our premise to have the Solar panels and inverter installed. The contracted electricians A&B Electricians arrived on time and got straight to working. Brock was a true professional.
The entire process, until handover, took about a month. But it was well worth it.
